Q. I installed it, but I don't see the badge.

A.
Browsers often hide new extensions by default. Click the puzzle piece icon (🧩) in your toolbar, find Watchtime Badge, and click the Pin (📌) button to keep it visible at all times.

Q. Why does the timer count even when the video is paused?

A.
Because your attention is still captured. Reading comments or searching for the next clip–this is all ’time spent’ on the platform. The timer tracks your total engagement so you don’t underestimate your usage.

Q. Can I really trust that there is no tracking?

A.
Don’t just take my word for it. You can verify the lack of network traffic yourself using the Network tab in Developer Tools. See our <verification guide > for the step-by-step proof.

Q. Can I sync data across multiple computers?

A.
No. Your privacy comes first. To ensure data remains under your control, we do not use cloud servers. Your history lives and dies on your local device.

Q. How is this project sustained?

A.
This is a personal passion project dedicated to digital well-being. It is open-source and maintained by an individual developer. There are no ads or data selling. Development is fueled by voluntary Buy Me a Coffee contributions.
